Following 700 episodes of Corsten’s Countdown, Ferry Corsten used the landmark broadcast to announce it’ll be the last of the longstanding show, with a fresh new radio concept taking its place: Resonation.
Known for always pushing the envelope in the dance music scene, Resonation will be broadcast from a full studio set up and provides Ferry with the perfect platform to give his fans a broader perspective of electronic music. Exploring genres within the dance world, Resonation represents a diversity of dance music ranging from melodic techno to trance, and everything in between. Showcasing Ferry’s position as a tastemaker and highlighting the vast spectrum of sounds that influence him as an artist, Ferry’s expert programming will display his wealth of musical inspiration, alongside the freshest cuts that have resonated with his audience. The one-hour show can be seen every Wednesday at 2 pm EST on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch.
During the milestone 700th Corsten’s Countdown show, Ferry Corsten also revealed the identity of the heavily sought-after ID, I Don’t Need You, which is now confirmed to be his own melodic techno-leaning single to be his own team up with We Are Loud. First premiered on A State Of Trance last week, fans have been speculating as to the artist behind the single in their droves. The single comes at a perfect time, showcasing the heavier side of Ferry’s arsenal and serving as a preview of what fans can expect from the new radio show.
The single adopts a darker tone, with a growling Reese bass sitting underneath washed-out drones and a skipping lead melody that pushes the track. The vocal gives a lighter tone to the overall atmosphere, as Ferry and We Are Loud strike a fine balance to create a pumping club track that maintains pop sensibilities.
2020 has seen Ferry Corsten explore the deepest corners of his inspiration, resulting in multiple innovative new projects that have taken him out of his comfort zone. For the first time, YOU can now SEE Ferry Corsten curate his favorite tracks of the moment every week live via social media and/or listen to him play an even more diverse soundscape, giving an insight into the sonic palette that constantly shapes his evolution in sound. In addition, fans are also able to interact and show their support for their favorite records from the show. The most popular weekly tracks from the show will also be promoted via a monthly compilation, released via your favorite streaming platform.
